Launch of the Writing Competition

The EDB3 committee is pleased to announce a new food & wine blogger writing competition, to be held as part of this year’s Eat Drink Blog conference.

Entries for the competition will be based on eligible blog posts published within the past 6 months, under one of the following categories: Food or Wine Narrative, Restaurant Review or Recipe Development.

This competition is open to all Australian food bloggers that meet the criteria, and entries must be submitted by email no later than 20.00 (ACST) on Monday 8th October 2012.

One winner per category will be awarded a fantastic Profoline prize pack valued at $519.80 (Griddle, Braising Pan, Milk Pan, PushPan (22cm), PushPan (26cm) and Bakers Mitt) plus books from Wakefield Press valued at $300.

Entries will be judged by an esteemed panel consisting of Barbara Santich (food historian and writer), Liz Harfull (author) and Alix Clark (SBS’s Feast Magazine).

Return of the Photography Competition

We are excited to present the Eat Drink Blog photography competition again this year. This competition is open to all Australian foodbloggers, not just conference delegates.

There are three categories and prizes: 1) IMPACT Photography Award – the winner will receive a $1000 Visa gift card sponsored by Impact Communications; 2) IMPACT Community Award – the winner will receive a KitchenAid artisan stand mixer valued at $799 sponsored by Impact Communications; and 3) IMPACT Runner up – the winner will receive a pack of ten (10) cookbooks sponsored by Harper Collins and a Dolce Gusto Melody Coffee Machine pack valued at $300.

Entries will be judged by an esteemed panel: Grant Nowell (photographer), Skye Harrison (Editor of Sumptuous) and Sneh Roy (designer and winner of last year’s IMPACT Award).

Eat Drink Blog 3 Delegates

This year 80 Australian food bloggers will be attending Eat Drink Blog 3 in Adelaide on November 3-4.

We are thrilled to be hosting delegates from every state in Australia bar Tasmania and the Northern Territory.

Many of our delegates have never visited South Australia before and we can’t wait to introduce them to some of our wonderful food regions and producers.

All applicants have now been notified regarding the status of their application to attend Eat Drink Blog 3.

This year we received a record number of applications for the 70 spaces available (plus speakers) and were over-subscribed by 55%.

For those who have confirmed spots at Eat Drink Blog 3, here are some great accommodation options.
