Eat Drink Blog 5 Registrations are Open! [Closed for 2014]

[applications closed on Friday 20 June]

Australian food bloggers who are keen to attend the 2014 Eat Drink Blog Conference will be extremely pleased to hear that registrations are now officially open!

This years Australian Food Blogger’s Conference is to be held in Brisbane, on the weekend of 20th -21st September at our venue Studio Thirtyfour in the suburb of Newstead.

  • Eat Drink Blog 5, as in previous years, is FREE for all delegates to attend.
  • Delegates are responsible for their own flights, accommodation, transfers and expenses.
  • There are currently 60 places available.

Food blogging has evolved in recent times and as such, we are looking for a wider variety of bloggers this year. As usual, bloggers who cover food, wine, drinks, coffee, home cooking, restaurant reviewing and food discussion may apply.

We will also be looking for a certain number of applicants who are microbloggers and use other platforms or means of blogging (such as Instagram). You must specify how and where you blog or microblog at the time of application.

  • Due to limited places, we must specify that only one person per blog may attend EDB.

Complete the Online Registration Form to apply for a place at Eat Drink Blog 5. Applications close strictly on 20th June 2014, at Midnight, AEST.

Applicants MUST agree to the Eat Drink Blog 2014 Terms and Conditions.

Merely applying to attend Eat Drink Blog 5 does not guarantee you a place. Applications will be reviewed and an email will be sent to all applicants regarding their status by 30th June 2014.

In the event of oversubscription (there are more applications than places being offered), the Eat Drink Blog 2014 Committee will use their discretion to allocate places to a selection which are representative of a variety of blogs and blogging platforms.

This means regretfully some applicants may be disappointed. The committee’s decision regarding applications will be final, and no correspondance will be entered into.

The Eat Drink Blog 4 (EDB4) organising committee is delighted to announce that the fifth Australian Food and Drinks Bloggers Conference — Eat Drink Blog 5 — will be held in Brisbane, Queensland.

Brisbane has not hosted the conference yet, so we are thrilled to hand over the torch to them and look forward to seeing what they come up with for Eat Drink Blog this year!

At this stage, Eat Drink Blog 5 will be held in September 2014, which is earlier than the previous three years as the international G20 Summit will occur in Brisbane in November.

Eat Drink Blog 5 follows Eat Drink Blog conferences held in Perth (EDB4 in 2013), Adelaide (EDB3 in 2012), Sydney (EDB2 in 2011) and Melbourne (EDB1 in 2010).

The organising committee for Eat Drink Blog 5 is comprised of bloggers from a range of backgrounds and fields of expertise, and will be chaired by Aga from A Matter of Taste.  Other confirmed committee members are Anthony from Food Me Up Scotty, Corrie from Brisbane Devoured, Heather from The Love of Food and May King from MayKing Tea.

The organising committee will also have a support team comprising of Fiona from TIFFIN bite sized food adventures, Jess from Brisbane Belly Blogger, Kelly from Eating My Way Through Life, Melissa from Melissa Loh and Jessalyn from Feed Me Now.

“Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland, the Sunshine State. But Brisbane is more than pineapples and sunscreen! It’s a River City, sitting in a bend of the mighty Brisbane River. Flanked by South Bank and Fortitude Valley, Brisbane has a thriving food scene. Farmers Markets, hatted restaurants, bars and clubs as well as food and cultural festivals, subtropical Brisbane has a lot to offer the visiting bon vivant.” says Aga.

Each year Eat Drink Blog is managed by a different organising committee from the host state. Last year’s conference was organised by Ai-Ling from Food Endeavours of the Blue Apocalypse (Chair), Matt from Abstract Gourmet, Bri  from Eatmeetswest, David from Food Blarg and Chris from Bon Viveur.

The Eat Drink Blog 4 Committee will be handing over to the new Eat Drink Blog 5 committee over the next couple of weeks.
