For the first time, Eat Drink Blog had a surplus budget of $851.16 in 2012. This was due to fees received from people attending Dianne Jacob’s food writing workshop.
After some discussion, the Eat Drink Blog 3 committee has decided to donate this surplus to OzHarvest Adelaide.
OzHarvest is a non-denominational charity that rescues excess food that would otherwise be discarded. OzHarvest Adelaide began its operations in January 2011 and currently rescues and distributes approximately 30,000 meals per month to 40 different South Australian charities. This food comes from more than 160 different Adelaide food businesses including the Adelaide Central Market.
The Eat Drink Blog 3 committee is proud to be able to support such a worthy charity.
